Please refer to the following brief for your June Holiday research:

Art Project for Semester 2 (Individual Project)

Research

You will embark on a research on the various art movements:

1.    Cubism

2.    Abstract Art

3.    Abstract Expressionism

4.    Minimal Art

5.    Modern Art

6.    Optical Art

7.    Pop Art

Note: These are the things you will need to do:

1.    Write down websites that you have visited (for future reference and for awarding of marks)

2.    Definition for each Art Movement

3.    Timeline for each Art Movement

4.    Artists involved in each of the Art Movement. For each movement, name 2 artists.

5.    Examples of artists’ work. For each artist, you are to give 3 artworks, include title, size and medium for each artwork.

Point 2 to 5 will be needed later for a quiz as part of your project’s assessment.

Secondary 2 Term 3 Art Project Research

This is an individual project. You are to complete the following requirements as part of your assessment for the entire project.

1)     An introduction to Chinese Brush Painting:

1a) When, where and how did this form of art started?

2)     Subject matter/ Themes involved  in Chinese Brush Painting

3)     Materials used in Chinese Brush Painting

4)     Find 2 local artists who do Chinese Brush Painting. You have to do a detailed background research of these 2 Singaporean artists, include:

4a) A brief write-up about their lives, PLUS

4b) Influence and art education related to Chinese Brush Painting and painting style,

4c) Any accomplishments and service to the Chinese Brush Painting community in Singapore.

4d) 3 artworks done by each artist (Must be Chinese Brush Paintings),

4e) Title, Size and Year of completion for each artwork,

4f) Subject matter/themes use in each artwork.
